Remote Sensing in Agriculture

Remote sensing in Agriculture,  it's still very new to Malaysia but in Canada and USA, they benefits a lot from this technology.  First what is remote sensing. ?

According to Natural Resources Canada,

Remote sensing is the science of acquiring information about the earth without actually being in contact with it. This is done by sensing and recording reflected or emitted energy and processing, analyzing, and applying that information.

In Malaysia, we have one fully goverment agency which is Malaysian Remote Sensing Agency (MRSA), formerly known as Malaysian Centre for Remote Sensing (MACRES)

The Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) in Malaysia

The nutrient film technique (NFT) - a thin film of nutrient solution flows through plastic channels, which contain the plant roots with no solid planting media. The root mat develops partly in the shallow stream of recirculating solution and partly above it. It is extremely important to maintain this basic principle of a nutrient film because it ensures the root system has access to adequate oxygen levels. NFT is very innovative way of farming and have a great prospect in Malaysia Urban Farming.
